About Me

I'm a computer science major and mathematics minor at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. Before I fell in love with computer science, I studied psychology. In my psychology program, I took a data analysis course where I learned the R programming language. This was my first taste of computer science, but I immediately knew that I needed to learn more. That next semester I began taking computer science courses, and decided that this was the career path for me. When I am not behind a monitor, I love learning how to create new things and traveling.

Projects

Below are some of the projects that I have recently worked on.

ClearObject Business
Intelligence Engine

This was a project that I created during my internship with ClearObject. COBIE is a data aggregator built to help company executives make more informed decisions using company metrics. Before COBIE was implemented, company data was spread across various external tools. By integrating all of these external tools through various APIs, I was able to create a custom dashboard to assist in cross referencing and making sense of company wide metrics.

Tech stack: Django, Django Jet, GCP App Engine, Cloud KMS, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL

Chaterang

Chaterang is a Slack clone that I built as part of the Xtern Bootcamp summer program. This web application was built using React and Firebase and allowed chatting between users in different channels.

Arcade Cabinet

The arcade cabinet is a long standing project that we have been working on in the Computer Science Club at IUPUI. The entire AC menu as well as the games that it runs are entirely student made. After this project is complete, we plan to permanently move a full size arcade cabinet into the campus center game room so that CS students can show off there games to students in other majors, and to raise brand awareness for the CS Club.

Experience

Outside of class, I try to be as active in the Indianapolis developer community as possible. Below are some of the things that I do.

  • Software Engineer Intern

    ClearObject, Fishers IN

Over the Summer, I worked at ClearObject along side an agile development team. This opportunity allowed me to plan, develop, deploy, and document a scalable Django application.

  • IUPUI Computer Science Club
    President

As the CS Club President, I lead weekly meetings that focus on developing relevant skills outside of coursework.

  • GDG Indy Organizer

As an organizer for this local Google user group, I helped organize meetups where people could learn and explore different Google products.

  • Xtern Participant

The Xtern program is a summer program to attract top tech talent to the Indianapolis area. During this summer program, I actively indulged in the Indianapolis tech ecosystem.

  • Computer Science Day

Computer Science Day is a coding competition that the CS club hosts for ~12o high school students. When preparing for this competition, we create different coding challenges and distribute scholarships to the teams that are able to complete the most problems in the amount of time given.

  • Celebrate Science

Celebrate Science is an Indianapolis event to get children excited about STEM careers. During this event, I teach children how to build simple games using the visual programming language Scratch.
